Feb 11 Meeting with David Gouthro – Better Together: Capitalizing on Opportunities for Collaboration!
Better Together: Capitalizing on Opportunities for Collaboration!
Tired, lonely and occasionally depressed? Looking for a way up and out? Nope—this is not the beginning of an advertisement
for a new drug—or dating service! As speakers, trainers and facilitators, we often find ourselves on our own—working hard to keep our clients, bankers and families happy (in reverse order of importance, of course!). Choose to suffer no more . . . In this fast-paced, highly engaging workshop, we will examine ways to work more effectively and profitably with others. Regardless of whether those “others” are professional speakers, competitors, neighbours, affiliated organizations, clients or communities, there are ways and means to effectively determine who and how to work with for mutual benefit. So c’mon out to explore ways to build your revenue and quality of life with others. And don’t sit alone!!!
About David: David Gouthro is a 55+ (okay, almost 60 year old!) professional playful paradox. As President of The Consulting Edge, David brings a wealth of experience as a facilitator and consultant to a wide variety of private, public and not-for-profit organizations on three continents. For the last 30 years he has supported companies in the high tech, energy, biotech, mining, healthcare, education, performing arts and municipal government sectors. Whether helping small groups (boards and senior management teams) with strategic planning, or assisting large groups (500+) in determining strategies and tactics to remain viable, he balances a professional, sharply-focused mind with a playful spirit. Clients leave energized, with a clear sense of direction and a feeling of accomplishment. As the father of a socially conscious and precocious 11 year old daughter, David has been forced to remain a consummate (and humble) learner! He applies his natural curiosity and eclectic interests to benefit his clients by helping them stay open to greater possibilities than might be otherwise imagined. David is an active member of the International Society for Performance Improvement, the International Association of Facilitators, the BC Chamber of Commerce, and is incoming National President (2012) for the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
Educational Speaker
Lorn Stanners - The Joy of Tax, Keeping the Jingle in YOUR Jeans!
Lorn has been making a difference to the bottom line of individuals, businesses and non for profit organizations since 1983. He has helped thousands of clients, individuals, not for profits and businesses, save money and avoid pitfalls in business, tax planning and fraud. A Certified Management Accountant, since 1979, Lorn has been an active member of the Society of Management Accountants. Including: founding Chairman of CMAs in Public Practice, Directors of CMA Alberta (elected for three terms) and of CMA Canada. Lorn has also been a mentor for other CMAs, a Practice Reviewer and has served on various committees since 1981. Lorn’s clients include: accountants, doctors, lawyers, retail, manufacturing, service, consultants, not for profit organizations, hospitality businesses, hotels, automotive, condominiums, self employed individuals and others. Clients frequently comment on Lorn’s approachable style and that they are not afraid to ask him questions. Some may, however, question his sometimes offbeat sense of humour. Tax is a game and Lorn wants you to be the winner by using the rules of the game to your advantage.
